Baseball
Baseball is a game that has been around for a long time. An American sport that began to sprout in the early 17th century but didn't get grounds to be played before the 18th century is now played as a professional sport. In the very beginning it was not given the place of being among the professional games and was played actually as an informal game. It was only in the later years that the organisation was formed and took up baseball as a professional game.
Initially, this game was exclusively known and recognised in the city of New York only but shortly after the civil war this game unfolded outside the New York. The rules and regulation of baseball have seen variable shapes before it was decided that the rules of baseball that now follow are the rules that stuck in the year 1845. Before this date, Baseball was not recognised as an organised game and teams followed rules wherever they played.
As more and more years passed away, Baseball game more sophisticated. The players of this game also became popular making history with no hitters and home runs. Many books have been written and many movies have been made about historical baseball players like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Hank Aaron - a player who in fact broke Babe Ruth's record for the most home runs.
With the popularity of Baseball game, African American's also tried to be a part of the baseball professional teams but were not allowed to do so. This discrimination continued until the National Association of Baseball Players was formed and started welcoming African Americans to join the game. Baseball is a man's game and one should enjoy the game recognizing the history behind the teams, players, and the game itself.
